Detroit -- Additional tickets for what is being dubbed the "World Series of Hip-Hip" -- Eminem and Jay-Z's concerts Thursday and Friday at Comerica Park -- have been released and will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Wednesday, promoter Live Nation announced Tuesday.
The tickets are lower level reserved seats and cost $99.50 and $79.50. The tickets go on sale at Livenation.com, tickets.com, and the Comerica Park box office.
The new tickets are in addition to tickets that were opened up over the weekend when the concerts' final production requirements were determined. Those tickets are on sale now.
Also on Tuesday, it was announced that chart-topping rapper B.o.B will open both Comerica Park concerts, which are expected to draw around 40,000 fans each to the Detroit Tigers' home. Em and Jay will repeat the "Home and Home" shows, with Em opening for the New York rapper, Sept. 13 and 14 at Yankee Stadium.

Foot Locker x Nike: The Educators
Foot Locker has recently released this ad campaign featuring Rajon Rondo, Amare Stoudemire, Justin Tuck, Desean Jackson and Sanya Richards. Along with this ad are player specific ones. You have to see the Amare one. I posted it below.
Ferrari 599XX - Nürburgring record 6:58.16
Yes, ladies and gentleman, it was announced in Beijing that the beastly 599xx has officially broken the 7 minute barrier!
The Ferrari 599XX is the first ever production-derived sports car to break the 7-minute barrier on the classic 20.832 km Nordschleife circuit, lapping in 6 min 58.16 sec.
The 599xx has seen the introduction of a few technological advancements, which will probably be ported over to the other Ferrari models in the future. Amongst them:
1. The wheel doughnuts of F1 derivation which serve two purposes – to reduce turbulence and thus drag, and improve brake cooling.
2. Ferrari’s High-Performance Dynamic Concept, a novel integrated design and chassis set-up that uses sophisticated electronics to govern the mechanical limits of the handling for maximum performance.
3. The Actiflow™ System that increases downforce and/or cuts drag depending on the car’s trim during cornering.
Why I Love Having a PS3
Microsoft will increase the price of a subscription to its Xbox Live online gaming service later this year, it said Monday.
Via the Major Nelson blog, the Xbox 360 maker announced that a one-year Xbox Live account will now cost $60 instead of $50 effective November 1.
The prices of one- and six-month subscriptions will also increase, as will certain subscription plans in Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
The fee increase comes as “no surprise” to Electronic Entertainment Design and Research analyst Jesse Divnich.
“When originally launched in 2002, a Gold subscription cost the same as an AAA video game, ($50)” he said in an email. “When taking into account for inflation… and the additional services available to Gold subscribers in 2010, such as ESPN, Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Last.fm and Video Kinect, a $10 price increase still represents an incredible value to consumers.”

Uni Watch College Football Preview - 2010
The new Michigan State Uniforms actually look pretty solid
How big is Uni Watch's latest back-to-school survey of college football uniform changes? Let's put it this way: There are 120 FBS schools, and nearly half of them are mentioned in the column you're about to read. It may constitute the single largest batch of college football uni information ever gathered in one place. And still more info will come later this week, when Nike unveils its latest Pro Combat alternate uniforms. You may recall the Pro Combat program from last year (the designs with the weird shoulder stitching, remember?). The promotion was apparently so successful that Nike's doing it again this year. The 10 teams this time around, each of which will wear the special threads for at least one game, are Alabama, Boise State, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon State, Pitt, TCU, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. No word yet on the specific designs or exactly when they'll be worn, but a big unveiling is slated for this Wednesday, so Uni Watch will provide full coverage later in the week....

Fantasy Football Team - 2010
Yesterday we had our fantasy football draft through espn.com. I was thrilled with the players I managed to draft, aside from not picking up either Reggie Wayne or Andre Johnson. But nonetheless here's my team pending any trades:
QB: Peyton Manning (IND) & Joe Flacco (BAL)
RB: Ray Rice (BAL), Ryan Grant (GB), Jamaal Charles (KC), Ronnie Brown (MIA), & Marion Barber (DAL)
WR: DeSean Jackson (PHI), Anquan Boldin (BAL), Pierre Garcon (IND), Eddie Royal (DEN), & Devin Aromashodu (CHI)
TE: Tony Gonzalez (ATL) & Jason Witten (DAL)
DEF: Dallas Cowboys
K: Nate Kaeding (SD)
Keep in mind, we only had 8 total teams in the league so that's why the teams seem a little more stacked than they should be, but still I am happy with my picks.

UM's Bailey is the Pride of a Tiny Island
SAPELO ISLAND, Ga. —The ferry leaves at 8 a.m., and by 7:30 the dock already has the feel of a middle-school field trip. A group of retired Californians lines up in the early-morning heat, talking. A few University of Georgia students stand with backpacks, laughing.
There's a middle-aged couple going to stay at the mansion-turned-hotel, a handful of day workers, some state park employees and a few of the residents who live in the remote island's lone community, Hog Hammock.
"Why are you going to the island?" asks the ferry's first mate, selling $1 tickets and holding a clipboard.
"To see Allen Bailey," I say....

NFL U
What a tribute to the University of Miami football program, that ESPN.com and Scouts Inc. put 15 former Miami players among the 200 best in the NFL.
The UM pipeline to the NFL stardom is no surprise to anyone that follows the sport and it continues to grow. At the beginning of training camps, 51 UM players were working out with NFL teams.
Here are the 15 players and rankings:
2. Andre Johnson - Houston Texans
14. Ed Reed - Baltimore Ravens
32. Reggie Wayne - Indianapolis Colts
36. Vince Wilfork - New England Patriots
42. Jon Beason - Carolina Panthers
58. Frank Gore - San Francisco 49ers
72. DJ Williams - Denver Broncos
91. Kellen Winslow - Tampa Bay Buccanneers
111. Vernon Carey - Miami Dolphins
119. Ray Lewis - Baltimore Ravens
140. Eric Winston - Houston Texans
148. Jonathan Vilma - New Orleans Saints
162. Brandon Meriweather - New England
196. Calais Campbell - Arizona Cardinals
200. Devin Hester - Chicago Bears
So who do UM fans think is missing from this list. 2009 Pro Bowler Antrel Rolle? Jeremy Shockey? Greg Olson? Clinton Portis? Bryant McKinnie?

Ronaldinho's comeback on Camp Nou for Barcelona - AC Milan 25/08/2010
I missed this yesterday, but seeing it today was great. This is a real respectful act by Barca. It shows that all these teams may hate each other for 90 minutes but before and after they have nothing but respect for each other.

Fall 2010 Semester
After sitting through all my classes at least once, I have already started to figure them out;
BUS 300 (Business Stats) - This class is going to be extremely easy due to the way he does homework, quizzes, and exams. He pretty much tells us all the answers to everything we do. I may not be learning too much but should be an easier class. Predicted Grade: A
FIN 302 (Financial Analysis) - One of the more difficult classes, especially due to her random quizzes and excessive amounts of reading. She is a sweet, old lady who wants us to learn though so it shouldn't be too bad. Predicted Grade: A-/B+
BUS 301 (Integrated Business Exp.) - This is probably the most boring class I have had at Central, period. I have never really been too interested in SAP and databases to begin with, but this could be a struggle. The fact that I have a computer in front of me to use will get me through this class. Predicted Grade: B+
PES 550 (Sports Fundraising) - This class confuses me, I want it to be fun and exciting but I don't know if it is. This class is still up in the air but I hope it's going to be fun. Just wish I knew more people in it.
MGT 303 (Supply Chain Mgmt.) - This prof is very strict but at the same time I know he serious about what he's teaching so that's always a plus. The idea of supply chain will be important no matter what I am doing in the future so I'm kind of forced to pay attention. Predicted Grade: A/A-
MKT 304 (Marketing Mgmt.) - This is probably going to be my favorite class because the prof is so energetic to teach and it's a great topic. Hope to learn a lot in this one. Predicted Grade: A

Old Spice Guy Wins An Emmy
These are probably some of my favorite commercials of all-time. Glad to see this guy finally gets some recognition for all the hard work he has put in. "Swandive!"
"Ad agency Wieden + Kennedy’s “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” TV spot for Old Spice has won the Emmy for Outstanding Commercial.
The spot starred former NFL wide receiver Isaiah Mustafa as the Old Spice Guy, a character now well-known in pop culture thanks to the TV ads and a highly successful social media campaign.
The Old Spice Guy solicited questions from fans on Twitter, Yahoo Answers and other websites, then answered them in short, humorous YouTube videos. Total upload views for the Old Spice YouTube videos (including both the TV and the social media campaigns) currently stand at almost 135 million. “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” has more than 18 million.
Mustafa joked in one of the final videos that he was a struggling actor, but the ads seem to have stripped away the “struggling” bit. He’s been signed to two movie roles, and will also appear in the NBC TV series Chuck.
Though Mustafa’s performance was a hit, the Emmy actually went to the creative minds behind the ad campaign, Wieden + Kennedy’s Portland office. The team won an Emmy last year for the Coca-Cola Super Bowl spot “Heist"."

Knockoff Nikes and Much More...
This is an article posted in the New York Times I came across that shows the inside world of knockoff shoes. Yup, just like fake Rolex's and purses, people are making knockoff shoes. The scary thing is that it's hard to tell the different between some of them. Makes you think about where your shoes are coming from...
The the article can be read here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/22/magazine/22fake-t.html?_r=1

Robinho and Pele brought in by Santos to warn Neymar: Don't sign for Chelsea!
Santos heroes Robinho and Pele have been drafted in to talk Neymar out of a move to Chelsea.

Once derided, University of Miami basks in now-lofty status
Miami, say hello to the new U.
After decades of fighting to shed its party-going, Club Med-type reputation, the University of Miami appears to have done exactly that. UM these days is a hotbed of research activity, as well as the favored destination for some of the nation's brightest high school seniors.
U.S. News & World Report magazine is the latest true believer in the ``new'' UM, as the magazine last week ranked UM 47th in the nation among all national research universities -- high enough to be Florida's top-ranked school.
UM, ranked 50th last year, has never held the state's No. 1 spot before. The longtime owner of that title, the University of Florida, dropped from 47th to 53rd this year.
``We obviously are in the top ranks of American universities now,'' UM President Donna Shalala said. ``The only way you move up in the rankings is by getting better.''
Just nine years ago, UM ranked 67th in U.S. News' annual tally. Jumping 20 spots in less than 10 years is a rare feat, and almost certainly makes UM the envy of many other schools.
The 2001 hiring of Shalala -- who served as secretary of Health and Human Services in the Clinton administration -- on its own served to bring a certain level of gravitas to UM's lushly-landscaped Coral Gables campus. In both 2004 and 2008, UM hosted a U.S. presidential debate, and Clinton himself was at UM in April after choosing the school as the site of his most-recent Clinton Global Initiative University forum. ...
